Poem about a Lock and Key
Under Lock And Key
I shiver near
A cardboard wall,
Watching torn t-shirts hang
Out of experienced windows while
Grammar-less children look,
Probe,
From a distance
For a crack in the clouds.
Save the innocent ones,
Not the blackened pennies covering their streets,
For they did not choose to be ruled
By those with more money
And greed.
They try
To force weakened hands
Through the stern doors,
Probing,
But they can not find
They can not find
The golden key.
