What Is StumbleUpon?

StumbleUpon is a great way to "stumble" onto online content that you likely would not otherwise find on your own searches of the ever-growing Web. Stumble, rate, share, and review content using the StumbleUpon extension for Google Chrome.

Version 4.3.5.2 has a cleaner Toolbar that lets you explore the StumbleUpon site to find new items based on your Interests and easily upload content to the site.

Install StumbleUpon Toolbar for Google Chrome

You can install the Toolbar to Google Chrome by (1) heading to the Chrome Store within the browser or (2) by simply using this direct Chrome Web Store link.

Here are step-by-step directions for installing the Toolbar using each method:

(1) Find the Web Store by:

  • Open new tab in Google Chrome.
  • Click the "Web Store" icon in bottom right corner of screen OR click the right-hand arrow on the "Most Visited" screen to access your Apps and click the "Chrome Web Store" icon.
  • Enter "StumbleUpon" into the Search field in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Click the blue "Add To Chrome" button.
  • Restart Chrome to finish installation

OR

(2) Click the embedded link for the Chrome Web Store.

  • Enter "StumbleUpon" into the Search field in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Click the blue "Add To Chrome" button.
  • Restart Chrome to finish installation.

Use StumbleUpon Toolbar

When you now open Google Chrome, you will see the StumbleUpon orange icon in the top right-hand corner of the browser. Click the icon and the site's Toolbar appears. Easy!

You now have access to all of the website's features at your fingertips. Press the "Stumble!" button to see randomly sorted content. Press the thumbs up "I like it!" button or the thumbs down button depending on your interests.

Add your own content as well to the site easily using the Toolbar. Press the thumbs up button and the site takes you to the screen to add new content if you have not already added it to the site. Add new content to get photos, articles, or other media seen by site users.

The Process

You have now installed the StumbleUpon Toolbar to Google Chrome. Access the Toolbar at any time on the browser by clicking the site's icon. You can easily share and add content from across the web, as well as interacting with other site users. Enjoy the options of your new installation!
